or maybe not.... unless you live near a theater.... ... but either way the sequel to the
1986 movie TopGun has finally been made....
. it;s scheduled for release in the
summer of 2020.... where by that time tom cruise... (maverick) ... will have been in
the navy for 34 years... and still flying fighter jets - without a promotion or a raise
in pay.. ..
... or at least that;s what i gathered from watching the trailer.... 
....

If I see the sequel I suppose I should watch the original first........ not sure why I haven't...just havent. I like other Cruise movies and Kilmer movies as well..

what?...... you never the saw the original TopGun?......
.. .. ..no big deal.... 
.... you only missed the greatest aerial combat action drama - combination
hollywood thriller - naval recruitment poster - and longest music video
of all time......
.... ... but serisouly...... you gotta see it at least once
before the new one comes out.... ....

it;s probably true.... especially more so now that so many IFBX pastors have done things to be ashamed of.... ..not that it humbled any IFBX pastors at all... .. but it might have given Navy pilots egos a boost just realizing that no matter how bad they are..... they still weren;t as bad as them......
but the biggest ego award of all has to go to Air Force pilots..... ...their egos are so big they can;t even admit Navy pilots exist ... .. their egos are what IFBXer egos used to be..... ...in fact some IFBXers even defend the egos of Air Force pilots the same way they use to defend the egos of IFBX pastors before the big fall from grace they suffered... ..... it;s a mind boggling thing to see....

if you didn;t see the 2018 version of tomb raider..... starring alicia vikander as laura croft... .then you missed a really good movie in my opinion...
.. 10 times better than the travesty made with angelina jolie.... who couldn;t on her best day match the physical fitness of a true laura croft....
....but there is still time to see the 2018 version before the sequel starring the much better physically fit alica vikander comes out in 2021... ....

no trailer yet for the upcoming sequel..... ...but apparently filming is underway....
..... meanwhile here is the trailer for the 2018 version....
oh.... by the way..... i definitely think they need a better archery coach for the
sequel than they had for the first one.... . it;s weird how movies never care about
portraying traditional combat archery accurately.... ..still the archery in this movie
was better than most..... -

so.... if you expected to see this new Top Gun this past summer.... like i did.... then you were sadly disappointed.... ... but you probably held out hope that it would be shown on it;s then new release date of december 2020.... . well..... that didn;t happen.... and now they say the new top gun... which has been finished and ready for the screen for almost a year now... will not be seen in theaters until the summer of 2021.... ...
is anybody going to care by then?......
if they hold this up movie much longer they will have to re-shoot it and put the fictional "maverick" in an f-35 rather than an f-18...(are 60 year olds allowed to fly f-35s?)..... or else they will have to sell this movie has a retro historical film,.. kinda like the old top gun is now... rather than an up to date current day events movie.... .... what will they do with this movie if we end up in a shooting war against one of the countries in the movie we are supposed to be an ally of before it hits the screen?... ... what if the whole world goes to war by then, after china emboldened by a weak biden administration ..moves against taiwan and north korea sees that as an opportunity to strike south korea or even japan?..... will they still show this movie then?
i saw a movie in a theater 2 days after september 11, 2001.. and they were showing the trailer for the new spider man... in it they showed him trapping a helicopter in a giant spider web strung between the world trade center towers......when we saw that we all remarked how those towers weren;t there anymore...and wondered if they would leave that scene in the movie...... turns out they didn;t leave it.... they cut it totally out of the film.....
granted.... global war and international terrorism are much bigger concerns than the release date of a movie.... ..and i can sort of understand the desire to edit one if it keeps the mobs out of the street and prevents complete emotional breakdowns in the theaters.... . .. but i really wanted to see this thing... ...in it;s entirety..... and when it actually had some relevance.... ..oh well.... tom cruise probably wishes the same thing...

so now.... they are saying top gun 2 maverick... will hit the theaters on november 19,
2021...
and to keep us on the hook they have relaunched this trailer from early 2020... that has extra
behind the scenes production clips in it.... but which also says the movie was coming out the
summer of 2020........
i say it;s time for a new trailer at the very least..... ... but other people i know are saying
that the way things are going we might be in world war 3 by november 19th.... or at least
have gone through some aerial skirmish in defense of one of our allies or to deter aggression
in the western pacific.... ..
if that happens then pete mitchell... "maverick"... of top gun fame, might not be the only u.s.
fighter pilot to have shot down 3 enemy planes in the past 40 years,.. like the movie claims.. ....
will they then have to go back to the studio and re edit this movie once again?..... and will
anyone care to see "maverick" back in a fighter jet... an f-18 no less.... when f-22 raptors
have already demonstrated their superiority in the skies?.. and racked up more kills apiece
than all the pilots in top gun movies combined?..... ..they have that capability... and then some
who knows.... but i;m not holding my breath until this thing comes out..... i will be shocked if
it actually does come out on november 19th..... and all i can say is.. if it flops.... it will be the
biggest most bally-hood over rated flop of a movie in history.......
i guess we will see, as they say........

so..... if you are tired of waiting for Top Gun 2 - Maverick..... which they now say is being
delayed until may of 2022..... .. here is a movie that comes out in a few days...... and which
looks pretty good so far.... according to the trailers.... .
The Last Duel.... based on a book of the same name by eric jager... and which covers
an actual series of events that took place in the late 14th century france... and which ended
with the last officially sanctioned fight to the death between knights on horseback in
the medieval age... was produced by ridley scott.. . so i will definitely be going to see it....
jason bourne versus the son of darth vader.... .. that would be epic in any century.....

yes... i was one of those few who actually thought the last duel was good...... ....
but that;s not what i woke up thinking about this morning.... after i realized the
big swell promising to bring good surf conditions to the island was a wash out of course...
are we ever going to get to see top gun 2 maverick in a theater?
tom cruise finshed this movie almost 4 years ago.... but has made endless this,
that, and the other thing excuses as to why he has to keep delaying it;s release....
i am beginning to think we are never going to see this movie....... and if we do it will
be long after tom cruise is in a care home and the last of the F-18s is in a museum....
