  I read a facebook post recently that talked about how church was more of a courtroom than a emergency room where people could get help. 
  
  While such statements "sound good" on the outside, they hold very little to no lasting truth.....
  
  Truth be told......People that say such things don't really mean it....
  
  Preachers just can't admit they've been wrong. They can't. Sure. They may talk about a medical issue or even mental issues and thing they've really revealed something of importance.......
  
  In reality, they're often just fishing for more compliments. The average preacher has been so wrong in so many ways for some many years, they couldn't possibly admit it all. They''ll preach things that are contradictory and pretend they never got it wrong the first time. They'll talk about being weak and refuse to allow anyone to point out where they've actually been weak. 
  
  We need both courtrooms and emergency rooms....You can not get lasting help without facing the courtroom of God. You can't. We must come face to face with our failures. 
  
  Only guilty people can find help at God's emergency room.

  having spent a lot of time in both court rooms and emergency rooms.... i have to disagree with whoever wrote that facebook post... ..... they appear to suffer from mental binary-ism...black and white thinking..... ... (or.... the kind of person who always puts everything into only 2 categories....)  ... ... .. ....churches are not anything like emergency rooms or court rooms either one.... ... and neither should they be...... just as courtrooms and emergency rooms are vastly different from each other.... ......churches are an establishment altogether different from either one of them....... and with... in my opinion.... no crossover characteristics..... ...... .... and.... as establishments go the church is the one which is most important...... ....and which no other establishment is worthy of comparison to..... ..
  
  but there are many establishments people in society depend on...  ... if i had to compare one of them to the church.... then i would have chosen a school.... .... which actualy does have a few crossover characteristics with a church...... ..
  
  when court rooms and emergency rooms are done with you you are also done with them.... .... from the emergency room you either walk out feeling better or you are carried out dead....  ... and from the court room you either exit the front door to freedom or you are frog marched out the back door to jail.... of course in a few cases concerning minor offenses you might be sentenced to perform community service.. ..... in which case you will leave by the front door and register with a charity or government agency... ... likewise an emergency room visit might end with you being admitted to the hospital to be further treated and continue your recovery....  .....but either way once you leave a court room or emergency room you don;t go back there unless you are in trouble again....... 
  
  but with a church you return continuously....on a schedule.... .. just like a school... .. and if your heart is in it the more you learn, the more it makes you want to learn...... each day ends with you looking forward to coming back again.... .... ......but nobody finishes a day at the court room or emergency room then anxiously looks forward to going back there again.....  ....... but even with those similarities.... churches and schools are also vastly different from each other.... .. ....they are 2 separate establishments that..... though having a few things in common.... should not in any way attempt to copy or emulate each other... ... or spend too much time comparing themselves to one another either.. ..... when .. and if.... they do that... they lose focus of their primary purposes ......
