  i knew this was possible when i saw a longbow with a mere 110 pound draw weight shoot
  arrows through a 55 gallon steel oil drum a few years ago.... that;s far less draw weight
  than the war bows found on the mary rose... ...but real life and technically accurate
  testing is always fun to watch on these issues.. as sometimes the results even surprise
