  About ten dog-walkers assemble at the lake every morning, and today, five of them told me that they had paid to have their Windows 10 computers set back to either Windows 7 or 8. I used to write on two Win 10 forums before  getting into Chromebooks and Linux. The free upgrade offer is over, so if you have Windows 7 or 8, you'll be fine.
  
  If you're really frustrated with 10, pay a computer shop to add Linux. It cost me $16, and it runs well. Firefox is already installed, and it goes on the web with no problems.

  I have both Windows 10 and Linux installed.  Windows 10 is fine.  I use it mostly for games. 
  
  I think I finally figured out why my computer frequently turns itself back on after I shut down.  I think it has to do with the processor running hot.  When I play a game, the CPU fan spins up harder.  If I still hear the fan shortly before I shut down, then I can guarantee it will turn itself back on.  If the processor is running cool (no fan sound) when I shut down, then it doesn't turn itself back on.  
  
  That would be a motherboard/BIOS issue, but that doesn't explain why it only happens when I run Windows 10.  Maybe Linux simply doesn't cause the processor to heat up.  
  
  Regardless, I'll be getting a new fan for the CPU.  The fan I have on there keeps it cool enough, but it's too loud when I'm pushing the CPU hard.

  Over the years, I´ve learned that the low cost of an extra fan more than pays for itself by lowering the operating temperature.
