agnostic calvinism?.......
#1
about a week before fears of the corona virus sent us all home to stay home... ..i heard someone at the coffee shop say in all honesty, that agnostic calvinism was the belief system he had come to accept... ...and then added... or "so he thinks it is"... . .....i had never heard of such a belief expressed before... ..at least not in those terms..... .. and yet the concept seemed like something i had heard described before..... ... on one of the old forums.....

this person grew up among baptists.... .but never could accept the idea of God or faith as either the baptists or the bible taught it.... ..but he also couldn;t get away from the idea altogether that a god did exist.... .....so for most of his life he has thought of himself as an agnostic..... ....accepting the idea that there must be a god out there somewhere.. ...... . and at one time or another this god did something that affected all of us....  though he is not entirely certain what that was... ..or who that god was...... .. ...

he also considers himself gay.... ...yet holds to some of the most conservative... even far right wing.... political ideology i have ever heard anyone openly express... .especially in this day and time..... . in fact he is so far right wing conservative that he considers all gay people... like himself... to be abomination..... perverted aberrations of nature as he calls it.... .. ..

and that;s where the calvinist part of his belief system comes into play...... ...he says he is quite certain that for a person like him... ..who hates and despises gay people... .to be gay himself....  then that god out there somewhere.. that he says he thinks he believes in.. must have decreed it..... ... .

has anyone else ever heard anything like this before?.... ....could his belief be at the base of what leads some others into calvinist ideology?.....  the fact there is something... (could be anything at all.. not just this persons particular thing)... about themselves they can not accept... .. can not understand....  and yet also can not change.... and so therefor it must be the fault... or the will.. of God, that their dilemma with this thing continues?...... ...
